I’ve been a bit quiet sharing recipes lately, but I promise that there will be more to come in the future 🤍 In the meantime, here are some of the delicious things I’ve been eating lately to inspire you to get out and explore, or pop into the kitchen and create for yourself.

1. Tagliatelle al ragù at Osteria dell’Orsa in Bologna — on of my go-to places to eat whenever I’m in town @osteria_dellorsa
2. Gelato of dreams from La Carraria in Santa Croce, Florence 🍦
3. Lemon ravioli in oil and parmesan and tagliatelle with wild boar ragù from La Pasta Fresca in Mercato Centrale, Florence
4. Pizza from Chelmsford’s best, @tasteofitaly_pizzeria 🍕
5. Oysters by the seaside in Brighton
6. Churros and alfajores from Kusikuy in Brighton @kusikuy.brighton
7. Proof that I’m still cooking! A prawn pasta with tomatoes, chili and parmesan (apologies to my Italian friends) 🍝

Is anyone else still in comfort food mode? Maybe it’s the American in me, but meatballs always seem to tick my ‘cosy comfort’ box! This dish is easy to make and comes together using just one pan. Most of the cooking time is hands free so you can curl up with a book until dinner is ready to be served 🍲

It’s officially National Picnic Week and I’ve gone to Central Park in Chelmsford for a mini picnic with a bag of goodies from @lovetoastuk 🍞

What we had…
•Iced latte with oat milk
•Bacon & Cheese toastie
•All Day Breakfast toastie

And some delicious treats from @tiptreepatisserie who supplies TOAST with all of their tasty cakes and bakes 🍰
•Scone, clotted cream, and Tiptree strawberry jam
•Cherry Bakewell slice

It’s already Tuesday but I’m still thinking about the weekend when I attended my second Pasta Club from @the.hungry.tribe and @parlour.homecooking

For this evening we were in the beautiful Victorian dining room of The Hive Cafe in Oaklands Park.

The pasta was handmade with love, and the whole menu was delicious. Here’s what was on offer:

•Venetian duck ragu with pappardelle (there’s also a veggie option!)
•mushroom arancini with pomodoro and garlic aioli
•baked chocolate cheesecake with hazelnut crumb and chantilly

We also had some fresh, fluffy focaccia and olive oil but I couldn’t hold out long enough for a picture! If you haven’t attended a Pasta Club yet, the next one is on 6th July at The Hive. There are still tickets available and you can reach out to @parlour.homecooking to book 🍝

This week I had the honour of being a bridesmaid and cake supplier for my best friend 🤍 Seeing one of the dearest people in my life be so happy and in love is such a great joy. Thank you to Edel for your friendship and for being in my life, and to her new wife Abi for making her feel like the queen that she is! I laughed, I cried, I smiled from ear to ear — you’re a perfect couple. I’m grateful to have been a part of the celebration and relieved that the cakes managed to make it through the English countryside without toppling over on top of the bridesmaid squad!

From time to time I like to share some of my favourite local places for food and drink with you and at the top of my list is always @lovetoastuk 🖤

I remember feeling a lot of excitement when TOAST opened their doors in Chelmsford a few years ago. I visited within the first couple weeks of opening and have been coming back regularly ever since. The award winning coffee, nearly endless toastie options, and the welcoming team really make TOAST shine ☀️

TOAST just launched their new summer menu today and they invited me to stop by and try some of it. I can’t say that I’ve ever had my coffee with boba before but the Shaken Brown Sugar Iced Latte with Caramel Boba was a winner in my books!
